The Hypothesis

I showcase a versatile web application project titled "Multi-Purpose Web Application for Portfolio Showcase and Appointment Scheduling." Vimpy. This project integrates two essential functions: an engaging portfolio showcase for professionals to display their work and a user-friendly appointment scheduling system for networking.

Why Vimpy?

Objective:

Vimpy is a web application that serves as a warehouse for sharing user portfolios, scheduling appointments, and presenting pitches. While the platform offers valuable features, there is an opportunity to boost user engagement and retention through sharing portfolio and appointment scheduling in one experience

Outcome:

By implementing these strategies, Vimpy can transform into a dynamic and engaging platform that not only provides valuable services but also encourages users to actively participate, connect, and make the most of their experience.

User Research

By designing and developing this application, I aimed to address these challenges by offering a single, user-friendly platform that caters to both needs. This not only streamlines the user's experience but also enhances their ability to make meaningful connections in their industry. The application's unique combination of portfolio showcase and appointment scheduling makes it a valuable tool for professionals and businesses looking to stand out and connect effectively in a competitive market. It simplifies the complex processes of showcasing one's work and arranging meetings, contributing to a more efficient and engaging user experience.

Interview using open ended questions

Objective: To understand user behavior

What are your views on having an application that combines appointment and scheduling?

Respondent i: The ability to start complete the essentials of a meeting such as scheduling, meeting and receiving a feed back

Respondent ii: The ability to have an all in one application is essential in the hiring process

Respondent iii: If I am able to share my resume and get an appointment via the same link that will be awesome

Objective: To understand user motivation

What interests you when using a scheduling app?

Respondent i: My primary interests of users is the integration with their personal calendar. I want to be able seamlessly sync and navigate the calendar to stay informed about upcoming events. This integration and ease of access to my existing schedule are crucial for a positive user experience

Respondent ii: Multi sharing ability. I want to easily share my profiles, invites, or resumes with multiple connections simultaneously. This feature simplifies networking and communication, making it more efficient and user-friendly.

Respondent iii: It is important for me to be able to receive notification about future appointments

Objective: To understand user pain points

What are the primary challenges users face when using a scheduling app, and how can these challenges be addressed to improve user experience?

Respondent i: The lack of integration between the calendar and email functionalities within scheduling apps. This disconnect makes it difficult to streamline the scheduling process.

Respondent ii: The absence of audio or video options for meetings within the scheduling app. This forces users to rely on multiple tools for different aspects of their meetings, resulting in a less efficient user experience.

Respondent iii: I often find it inconvenient that the scheduling process is not a one-stop shop. It requires navigating through multiple steps and applications, making it less user-friendly and more time-consuming.

Research Finding

In summary, the research findings indicate that users have a strong interest in applications that combine appointment and scheduling features for a more streamlined and efficient experience. Specifically, they value:

  1. The integration of scheduling, meeting essentials, and feedback within a single application.

  2. The use of all-in-one applications in the hiring process to simplify recruitment-related tasks.

  3. The convenience of sharing resumes and securing appointments using the same link.

These findings underscore the significance of efficiency, convenience, and integration in scheduling and appointment applications, particularly in the context of the hiring process, aiming to enhance the overall user experience.
